Generation 3: Part 4. What a Wonderful World

Welcome to Emma’s new home! This beutiful house in the south of Appaloosa Plains is where she and her animals are going to live from now on.  It contains two bedrooms (one of which is going to be the new room for all the terrariums), a big living room, two bath rooms, a pretty kitchen with an attached dining room and a winter garden. On the right there is a huge barn, enough for two horses to live in.

And here is the first inhabitant! Meet Dominica, a freshly adopted foal who is supposed to enrich the family with cuteness and even more fun than before. Six big animals, yay!

As she is still really small, she misses her mother terribly. This is exactly what Emma is feeling, too, so the two of them get along great and soon become friends. The loneliness is gone and has been replaced with a feeling of having a family. A big family with mostly quadrupeds, but still!

Having a horse means a lot of responsibility, especially when it is still a child. You constantly have to feed and take care of it, because it can’t do that alone yet. One thing Dominica learned to do on her own really fast is meeting new animals! Soon after her arrival she’d heard about unicorns wandering through Appaloosa Plains, but she had never seen one before. The second night in her new home, she heard something outside around midnight. When she went over to have a look, she saw a beautiful animal with a horn in the middle of its head! A unicorn! Wow. Dominica was impressed and awestruck. Seeing such a rare creature in her own garden… this was something she would never forget.

If Emma had been up that night, she might have seen the unicorn, too. But she had been in bed and asleep, as school was starting and she had to get up early. Their house was beautiful, but it was a little outlying so it took her an hour to get to school. Hew new classes were great – she met a few people who seemed pretty nice, like Cruz what’s-his-last-name. He even invited her home after school, to talk and have a good time. He turned out to be some kind of idiot, but it was good to know in advance! Not everybody could be like Mike from Sunset Valley…since she had moved, there had been not one day she had thought about him.  He was history and she was starting a new life now. Good girl!

Apparently, everybody was enjoying their new home – Dominica got along with all the other pets in the house and would spend all day playing with them. Sometimes they left their property and explored other people’s houses and gardens. Unlike in Sunset Valley, the people here knew that there were many animals in this town and weren’t wondering what was happening out there. Instead they would just watch them and enjoy the show.

Way too soon it was time for Dominica’s birthday! She had become a member of the family and now it was her turn to grow up. Emma couldn’t wait until she had a chance to ride her pretty horse for the first time! (Is it me or does her face look like she is a sea horse?)

This was not the only birthday happening – Emma’d just had her last day of high school and was about to turn into a young adult. How would life look like now that she had left school behind?

Isn’t she just gorgeous? From all the animals running around and constantly waking her up, she developed a light sleep

Author's notes: Welcome to Appaloosa Plains! I love the new town, it is really pretty and there are so many animals! Although I sometimes still feel a little lost, because in Sunset Valley I knew every person and every place as if I'd lived there and here I don't know anybody. But it is great and, something that is even better, the game is working again! Due to Twallan's Saver (thanks again to Susan for the tip) the game is regularly saved now and it hasn't crashed ever since I started the new game!
Chapter title: Beautiful, old song by Louis Armstrong! :)

  3. I loved the pic of the unicorn! I'm sorry to see that Sunset Valley became unplayable. Maybe you'll have to change the name of your blog :).

I'm glad you were able to make use of The Saver! I think it's wonderful. Did you have some sort of setting in Twallan to allow Emma to live alone as a teenager? I thought that wasn't permitted, though I haven't tried it.

    And Emma grew up gorgeous.

  4. Oh,yes, you're right! I'll try to do that.

No, I didn't change anything in the Storymod to let Emma live there on her own. I think you can always do that - although you can't create a single teenager for a house. You can just let him/her there when all the adults are dead. Not moved! That doesn't work.

  5. Wow! Horses and unicorns! How exciting. I love the new place. The town looks cute. I imagine it is kind of hard to find your way around a new place, though.

Emma grew up lovely. It's nice to see her coming into her own.
