Generation 1: Part 13. Making Up

„Dad?“ „Yes, honey,what is it?“ “I am so glad you and Mum made up. I couldn’t stand the both of you fighting all the time. I love you so much!” “I love you too, Arvid. And so does your mother. We just had some problems that had to be fixed, but now everything is just fine. I promise.”

Now that this major problem had been solved, Stiles had a lot of free time on his hands to express his creativity. Mostly he did that by playing on his guitar outside in the park, where he always attracted a few people who stopped on their way to listen. And to give him some money.

Often he would play until the late evening, fascinating people so much that they wouldn’t go home, even if they were really tired. Instead they stayed and danced. And after they were done, they danced some more.

In the meantime, Chrissi decided that working as a police officer was not quite her true calling. She had already been bored by her job as a private investigator earlier in her life –before she got married-, being a police officer wasn’t much better, either. So one beautiful day she went into the nearby building of the local paper and got herself a job as a papergirl! Her first steps in journalism. Maybe she would be happier this time.

On her way home from the extremely successful interview she stopped by at Sunny’s house. A few days ago she accidentally had called her right in the middle of Nicklaus’ birthday party, so now she wanted to see how that little boy turned out to look like. Her conclusions after a first look at him: he neither got his hair from Sunny nor Michael. Maybe Michael’s mother had that hair color (she would try to find out about that). He was incredibly cute anyway.

With all the excitement about getting a new job, Chrissi almost forgot about Arvid’s birthday! He was about to age up into a teenager after all. It seemed like he had been a kid forever, but this phase was now over.

The next one didn’t look to bad, either. I think he is pretty cute and will win the girl’s hearts in no time! His fourth trait is Genius, as he decided that he wanted to be a doctor the other day. And not just a doctor – a world renowned surgeon! Wow, that is pretty ambitious!

To get there he had to go through some reaaally bad days, when he all he wanted to do was stay in bed, not noticing anything around him. At least his slippers had a friendly face! Well, his family would just have to deal with that, as he was a cranky teenager now.

Life was too short to worry about a single day anyway. When Stiles went to get another cookbook (as he had read the ones at home yet and still wanted to get better), he had to witness Nancy Landgraab meeting the Grim Reaper right in front of the book store. A very disturbing experience that caused him to think about life a lot. And that life was too short to just throw it away by fighting or acting stupid.

Arvid had different thoughts about this – life was too short to just do whatever you are supposed to do! Instead he decided to have some “fun” as well, sneaked up on one of his neighbor houses and threw some eggs at the front door. The passing household members apparently didn’t mind, because they just kept walking by, looking at him. Unfortunately they seemed to get upset as soon as they entered the house, because only minutes later the police arrived and brought Arvid home. Where a very angry Chrissi waited for him.

He was grounded. (Technically. Didn’t mean he would stick to that.)

While Arvid was sitting at home and pretending to be the nicest teenager in the entire town, Stiles and Chrissi went out to have some fun. They took the e-piano and the guitar out to the park and played a little for the people passing by! One of them was Jamie Koffi, one of Stiles’ ex-girlfriends (Boy, he had a lot of relationships before Chrissi), who apparently still had feelings for him, especially now that her husband Gobias Koffi had just died. She wanted to show him her affection by some pretty flowers – right in front of Chrissi! While I was in shock and not even able to close my eyes for a second,  Stiles rejected. Phew.

Meanwhile at home – like always, Brianna had been painting the entire afternoon and evening. She enjoyed painting so much (almost as much as writing) that she there and then decided that she wanted to be an illustrious author. Just like her mother once had wanted to be! Isn’t that cute?! She was so happy about her decision that she almost didn’t see Arvid sneaking in from his trip to the beach.  (to be seen on the left. The small guy running across the street.)

Luckily he wasn’t detected by his parents either, because they had other things on their mind. A few whispered words, a kiss, a hug and a short way to the shower. And a little melody late in the night.

Author's notes: So the family is officially back to normal after they started aging again (thank God!)! I know that there was not so much happening in the last days, but at least Arvid is a now cute teenager, which is what I really wanted to show you. I still have no idea who the heir is going to be, but as Chrissi is still 45000 $ away from fulfilling her lifetime wish, I still have some time finding out about that.And if you got the last sentence of the chapter, you can see why I don't want to decide now.

Oh, and something I never was able to say before: didn't see Cycl0n3 once in the entire week!!
