Generation 2: Part 4. ...and they all lived happily ever after?

Once little Daisy was born, Brianna immediately went back to her writing. She had mastered the painting skill quite some time ago and now it was time to work on her writing skill. A lot of books had been published since she had started writing, as almost every   book had turned out to be a bestseller. When she had typed in the last few words of her newest novel, she felt like she had done it – there was no way she could improve herself anymore. Her lifetime wish was complete! It had taken her a lot of work, but now it was done.

But instead of taking care of her daughter now, Brianna decided to lay back a little. Relax. She had been working so hard in the last weeks that she really needed a break. And she couldn’t do much with her daughter, anyway. Except cuddling and feeding her, which was what Cella often did. Cella really loved her little niece and she took care of her as much as she could. If you had counted the times Daisy saw both of them, Cella would definitely win.

Of course Brianna sometimes would walk over and have a look at her kid, but she didn’t really feel the love. Maybe it was because she had never wished for a child and was now a little overburdened, nobody knew. But she should have thought about that way earlier, because now little Daisy had to suffer from that. The entire day she was laying in her small crib, next to her teddy bear who seemed to be her only friend in the entire world.

Soon it was her first birthday! Brianna didn’t mind throwing her a party, she didn’t even remember that her daughter was aging up. Instead she spent her time reading or drawing. So poor little Daisy aged up all alone in her room. Funnily she had her mother’s hair, which wasn’t her natural hair colour – she had just dyed it! Genetics are a mystery sometimes…

It would be mean to say that Brianna didn’t even see that Daisy had grown up. But it would also be true, as she practically didn’t see her anymore.  When she wasn’t busy with having fun, she was working on her wedding preparations. Everything had to be perfect when she and Rolando were having their big day.

Concentrating on the wedding meant there was not much free time for Daisy, who would often sit in her little chair, waiting for the food Cella had prepared and then put aside because it was still too hot. Brianna rarely walked over to bring it to her, so she had to wait patiently.

If you didn’t know the little family at all, you would think that Cella was Daisy’s mom and Brianna just a friend of the family. Not even an aunt.

At some point, Cella just had enough. For days all she had done in her free time was taking care of Daisy, who would have been alone otherwise. She was sick and tired of her sister just living her life without considering the little human being who was in their house. So she just fed her, put her into bed and told her sister she’d be going to a party. Brianna didn’t even react, just nodded and kept on reading. Cella went out to a friend’s party and enjoyed some hours far away from the little toddler, among other grown-ups, among friends.

It was just what she needed – getting away from everything and being able to relax. Her friends hadn’t been seeing her for ages and were happy to catch up with her. They had really missed her and Cella had missed them. It couldn’t go on like this, but as the wedding was really close now, Cella was hoping that at least Rolando would take care of his little daughter in the future!

The big day was finally there! Hours of cooking (and throwing the food away because it sucked), cleaning the house, putting up balloons and the entire decoration were behind Brianna and Cella on a beautiful Sunday, the day that was supposed to be special. The day that would change Brianna’s life forever.

Local Artist Brianna Voss had announced to marry her childhood sweetheart Rolando Wester on previous Sunday. The house had been prepared, guests had been invited - everybody was ready for the great moment when they were exchanging their rings.  Except they didn’t. Chatty friends told our local reporter that Rolando had looked depreciative when Brianna had asked him if he wanted to be her husband and then shook his head. The bride was devastated and had to cancel the festivities. Her sister, who we talked to later, refused to tell if there was a new date for the apparently postponed wedding yet.

Author's notes: So. Can you believe it? The wedding didn't happen. I tried four times to get them married that day, but every time Rolando would just shake his head and that was it. Everybody was crying, throwing rice and applauding, but nothing happened. After the fourth time he went home. I was very confused, as their relationship bar is completely full and she is said to be eternally faithful. I tried again the next day - same thing. I resetted him, then invited him over again and tried again. Nothing. I don't know what is wrong with him but he doesn't want to marry Brianna. This sucks... I keep on trying!

Outtakes:

Nicolai Keaton died during the Wedding 1.2 and the Grim Reaper decided to stay and have some fun when he was there anyway.

Viviana Sharpe-Bluesky, now a (apparently very happy!) teen @Courtney

Note the four women with exactly the same hairstyle!

  1. Oh that is so weird! I wonder why Rolando wouldn't go through with it... maybe he knows that Brianna has been neglecting little Daisy! I hope things work out.

  2. On the romantic conversation meter thing, it has to say 'extremely irresistable' or whatever the highest one is. You have to do a string of romantic actions to get to that point then propose marraige. This happened when I was marrying Tony and Em, but I got there in the end.

The only thing I can think of is that he has the commitment issues trait... or another love interest.

I think my game is fixed. It started up and I was in the household and everything fine, but I closed the game so I could reinstall the CC. So when it starts up again I'll consider it fixed :)

  3. Well, he'd already accepted Briana's proposal. I don't think you need to have the "irresistible" conversation rating to marry someone who you're engaged to. Shanni just got married in my game, and her fiance was just at the "alluring" stage when they got married.

I saw this happen to a friend of mine, and she did get around it by doing a few more romantic interactions before trying to get married again.

  4. Well, I will try again with a few more romantic interactions...maybe he really just wasn't "in the mood". The next days I won't have a chance to play because the new semester is starting today. But when I get a chance, I will try again.

(And I thought of commitment issues as well...but as he officially still is a babysitter, he doesn't really live in the city. So I can't save the game and afterwards just move to his house to find out. And as Brianna doesn't want him to move in before getting married, I will find out the moment he finally accepts. If he ever accepts *sigh* )

    and@Courtney: Yay! I'm glad it's working again :)

So, like I said - new chapter will take a couple of days, because the new semester is starting today.

  5. I know it doesn't always have to be at the 'irresistible' stage, but Em wouldn't get married until it was. I think it just depends on the sim.

  6. I will just try again. And if this is the last thing I will do - those two will get married!!!
