Generation 2: Part 6. Who let the dogs out?

As life at home was frustrating Brianna, she went out to meet new people.  Maybe there was a potential new best friend, waiting for her to come and start a conversation. She wasn’t really happy about the way life was going right now, although she had completed her lifetime wish! Something was missing. She couldn’t put her finger on it and say what it was, but there was some space that was waiting to be filled. So she tried to find new friends, see if that helped. Her brother’s stepdaughter, Luz Berry, was the first one who came across her way when she walked around in the park. That’s right, his stepdaughter. He and Gina Berry had married a few days ago and now they even had a child of their own who they named Tiffany. Luz was Gina’s daughter from her relationship with some one night stand who she had never seen again. Brianna got along well with her but that was all.

Soon something else caught her attention – while talking she suddenly noticed something bumping against her foot. It was small and fuzzy and when she looked down to her feet she saw a cute little cat who somehow had miscalculated her way. Brianna was fascinated. This little cat was so cute! Spontaneously she decided to continue her conversation with Luz later (who had been running off anyway) and play with the little cat. Within a few hours she felt like she had known her forever.

She even wanted to keep her, but she didn’t know what her family would say. And although it was a possibility to just put her under her arm and pretend that she was a really small bag, she put her down again. The time wasn’t right, she would have to talk to her husband about it first. All the way home she thought about having a pet. Hadn’t Daisy practically begged her to buy her an animal? This way she would be busy a great part of the day  so that she and Rolando could do their own thing, which was their favorite activity.

When she got home she talked to Rolando. He liked the idea of buying a small pet, but didn’t want a cat because he had been scratched by one when he was younger and now basically was scarred for life. But a dog was cute, too! The next day, when Daisy was in school, they went to get something small and sweet that would their daughter company. It was a hard decision, but when they reached the last cage in the animal shelter, a little puppy looked up to them with his big brown eyes. This was it. Brianna felt it. And so they took little Lina home.  She was probably the cutest thing they had ever seen!

She was a really small puppy, but the sales man had told them she would get bigger when she aged up and would reach the size of a big cat. This was good to hear, but for the moment they honestly thought about putting up a sign that said “Warning! Dog!”. So that no one would accidentally step on her.

Everything turned out the way Brianna and Rolando had hoped – Daisy was busy playing with Lina all day and night, so that there was plenty of time for the happily married couple. Both of them felt that it had been the right decision to wait this long before getting married, because this way they could both start their lives before committing to something or someone. Now that they were ready for it they spent every minute together.

Which left Daisy stuck with Cella and her new little friend Lina. Whenever Cella had a minute between work and social activities, she would go and check on her little niece to see if she was okay. Daisy loved the company, as she still was feeling lonely sometimes. The little puppy was a huge help, always cuddling and playing with her, but still she sometimes craved some attention from her own family, who was too busy to even care.

She would even slip into her mother’s bed to be close to her. Rolando didn’t say anything and just went to sleep in Daisy’s room, but he didn’t really like this arrangement. Not because he felt sorry for his only daughter, but because this way he was separated from his beautiful wife for hours.

Cella couldn’t take this much longer and she decided to talk to Brianna. But as soon as she brought the subject Daisy on, Brianna quickly said that there was nothing to talk about. Daisy was happy the way they lived now and they even bought her a pet, that was all she would do for now. Cella couldn’t really believe it, but had no chance of telling Brianna that her daughter was lonely.

That didn’t mean she wasn’t. In fact, Daisy was really lonely and her new friend Lina tried everything she could to make her look happy again. Those big eyes mostly made Daisy’s day and every time Lina ran around the house, every now and then bumping against the furniture, it made Daisy laugh. At least this was something.

In the meantime, Brianna was too busy still living her life! Her band was booked for the first time and the concert better had been a blast. Brianna, Rolando and Cellas earlier love interest, Norman, met hours before they were supposed to start playing in order to practice some more together. And although there was only one person in the pub when they played (the same one Chrissi started her career in!) their concert could be called a success. So they decided to celebrate and have some drinks! Fortunately it was happy hour, so that there drinks were way cheaper than they usually were.

After two or three drinks Brianna felt nausea hit her. Had she drunk something she shouldn’t have been? Although she had mixed the sorts of alcohol it hadn’t been enough to make her sick. This was weird.

It took some hours for her to figure it out. She was pregnant with her second child!

She was so happy that she couldn’t wait to tell all of her friends. First was Viola Hart-Bluesky who was hanging out in the dog park. And although she had some concerns because Brianna was not exactly a great mother to her first child, she wished Brianna all the best.

Talking about the first child – Daisy still spent most of her time with Cella when she wasn’t in school. One day they went swimming, the next they took Lina to the park to have some fun. Outsiders could have thought they were mother and daughter.

Brianna finally bothered to tell her daughter she was about to have a little brother or sister the next night. As expected, Daisy was both thrilled and sad. Thrilled because a new sibling meant a new potential friend and another friendly face in the house. And sad because she felt like her parents didn’t love her anymore, so that now they had to get a new kid. Which meant spending even more time with her aunt.

When they got home from their latest trip, they just had a few minutes to get out the cake they had bought on their way and light some candles. Then it was time for Cella to age up into an adult! She chose an easy hairstyle and comfortable clothes (and instantly fell in love with this shirt, just like me).

Author's notes: Another baby! This is going to be interesting, especially since Brianna still rarely cares about Daisy. I'm just glad that Lina is there to help Daisy get through the days...poor girl.

Rolando is scared of the very big, intimidating creature standing in front of him!

  1. Poor Daisy! I'm glad that she has Cella and now Lina to make her happier. I can't believe Brianna was willing to have another baby!

That picture of Rolando and the tiny puppy cracks me up!

How is Pets? Is it worth the money? I'm thinking about trying to get Hubby to buy it for me after payday next week.

  2. Me neither! I couldn't believe my eyes when she rolled that wish. But apparently she wants to... No, I have no idea why she wants that.

Pets is unbelievably cute and definitely worth the money! For a few days I didn't meet any animals (as I didn't play in the new neighborhood, but just in Sunset Valley), which sucked. But now there are more animals and I LOVE playing with them! There are dozens of dogs and cats to choose from and although I haven't tried out the horses yet I heard that they are fun, too.
(And there are great new clothes and a few hairstyles!)

  4. I know, right?! I could sit in front of the screen and be like "awwwwwwwwwww!" for hours! I can tell you that she is still very sweet once she ages up. :)

  5. Lina really is cute. I've never been able to figure out why people are so excited about a pets expansion. I'm kind of into the big splashy stuff like traveling the world or being a celebrity. But I'm really enjoying seeing the animals showing up in other people's stories, so maybe I'll change my mind.

Daisy is STILL breaking my heart. It's good to know there will be two kids from a legacy standpoint, but I am now really attached to seeing Daisy find happiness and companionship.

I guess nothing ended up happening between Normal and Cella? I got the impression that they were deeply in love when they were dating earlier.

  6. I always loved the pets expansion pack in The Sims 2, it gave my Sims what I never had ;) And I love seeing those cute animals running around, interfering with the Sims' lives.

I am really curious about how she is going to end up. If she will stay lonely forever - I don't hope so, of course!

No, at some point their romantic interest just went back to being good friends, without any notification or something. Currently Norman is in a relationship, but Cella is still single. Poor girl, she might die without every being deeply in love... (only having experienced one romantic interest)
